wow... idk is this normal?

so as you know i left my old shop and im now working at a place called artistic monkey... witch is a lot cleaner and better for me the only thing is i fell like the dude is riping me off... i mean he made me pay half of last months order and i was only there for like 2 weeks and he only gave me like 80$ for a party he made like 1600 at and then to top it of hes taking 50% off all the tattoos im doing! AND he STOLED A TATTOO from me!! that was my friends bf! he criticizes me.. and tell me i need to only be using 3 round needles or 1 round i like the 5 round i like the steadiness.. oh and he says i needed to hang my needles.. with makes it a lot easier to see were im going but leaves me with uneven lines? please some one help me ! was i told the wrong way to do EVERY thing? or is that way right? im not really sure i did an apprenticeship and YES i went out to find out how to do more stuff.... but am i really going to have to start from scratch again o.O?

i think he's being a bit hard on you, but he should be just trying to help improve you, from what i can see your work is great. He shouldn't be taking that much money off you >.<

Well the percentage you get will vary a bit from place to place though from what I've seen 50% is about average what comes into play in many places is who pays for supplies and such.
Some guys get more than 50% but have to pay for everything others get less but they just supply their machines and talent. As for parties thats alien too me and I don't know what the norm is but it sounds like a awfully small cut.

I think he's set in his ways and is trying to teach you what he learned. However as with all things in life there is no one way to do it and you just learned something different than what's he's teaching-- So I don't think he's trying to be hard on you... he's just trying to teach you how he learned it. if that makes sense-- about screwing you like a cheap tattoo whore so to say. Well I dunno much about tattoo apprentice ships

Out here in arkansas it's all 50/50, and everybody has their ways when it comes to tattooing, but you know what works for you best, i say try his way for now but if it don't work do what you think is right.

but 50/50 and then making you pay for 50% of every thing at the shop? that seems a little harsh to me... idk when do i start making $$? lol

yeah but hes making me pay for all the orders also and well 1/2 of them.. and im drawing like every thing thats coming through the door... idk... hopefully it gets better from here out lol
